Summer Fun!

I did this amazing layout for a scrapbook swap I am in this month.  It was so fun to do a black and yellow page, I added some grey to give it a little bit of extra color without having to add another bright color.

Okay so I got way behind in posting to my blog ... a couple of years behind. I have now quit my full time job so I can be home more and because of that I have also opened up more time to stamp and to hold my classes to teach others the new techniques that have come about in the last few years. I'm excited and thrilled at the chance I have to show you just how amazing stamping can be as well as give you an opportunity to relax and enjoy a new hobby. My first class will be held on April 30th at 7:30pm and tomorrow I will be posting what projects we will be doing. If you would like to join us please let me know so that I can have enough project kits made for everyone. Lets get this life long journey started!!!

So today I felt like doing a Christmas card. For some reason the Christmas spirit usually hits me around this time of year. Maybe it's because I'm starting to Christmas shop early or maybe it's the leaves starting to change and my body and mind knows that winter is coming. There is just something magical about the earth blanketed in white don't you think?

So I went through some of my Christmas stamps and found this adorable tree. I wanted to add sparkles so I put glitter on all the little sparkles in the background and then on the tree also. I added dimensional's to the tree square and it really made the card. I don't think this picture does justice to the card, but I will be sending this one to my Chemo Patient. I hope he is okay with Christmas in September.

Day 3. a bit of a struggle

So I was able to accomplish another scrap book page, however, getting it photographed was a bit of a problem. By the time I got to the scrap book today it was dark outside, and we all know how taking a picture at night turns out. So I have decided to blog about my page but post the picture to this post tomorrow. I apologize for any of you who were just dying to find out what I've done today. :) I have found that this project goal of mine has made me feel more accomplished and feel better about myself. I also have found that with how busy my life is now with working a full time job and working a Stampin Up business and then going to school full time online... I have managed to fit in some time for this blogging/project goal that I didn't think I had.

Truly time is a gift. What we do with it is what matters most. I spent today with my daughter Abigail to make her last few days off track from school memorable. We started off by taking the car and getting it washed, she loves to do the tires with the big brush. Then we vacuumed it. she had a great time even though the vacuum kept getting her dress. Then we went to McDonald's for lunch so she could play on the toys since the park was a little hot on the slides. Not my most favorite food but still a good time with my daughter. Then I had previously proposed a movie, however Abby wanted to go to the store shopping and to have me buy her a new toy. I gave her the choice of spending the money I would have spent on a movie for the toy or we could just go to the movie. She of course as most 5 year old children do choose a toy. Then after buying the toy she wanted to go to a movie. HA! I conquered and did not give in to a movie also. Instead we went home to take a nap. That was my favorite part of the day was my nap.

I have found the naps that are far and few in between, have been a re-generator for my creativity. It seems to spur on the idea's that come to my mind, maybe because my mind is a bit more clear. So if you seem to be in a creative rut... Might I suggest a nap!? It's good for the mind and the body.

Scrapbook project

I was asked to do a table display for my church where I display my scrapbooks. I have decided that I need to get working on my husbands scrapbook again. It's only been 3 years since I started on it! Time just seems to fly. Jeff's parents gave me all of the pictures they had of him so I could do up a scrapbook for him. I have to say that it's been a bit hard because none of the pictures have dates. So I have been guessing when the pictures of him were around the same time frame or close in years.

If you have any idea's or want to comment your welcome to on these pages! I will hopefully get this book done by Sunday when it's suppose to be on a table for the display. Today this is my Day 2 project! Might as well kill two birds with one stone right!?

Day 1 accomplished!!

So I do a program that is called Chemo Angels where I am assigned a Cancer Patient who needs a little encouragement once in a while. I am a card angel so I send him a card once a week to brighten up his day that week. I have been struggling lately to come up with new idea's for cards, especially because it's a guy and making manly cards is hard for me. This is what I came up with for this week to send him. I created this tonight at 5pm my time and found that using this little bear gives me such a smile on my face it's sure to bring him a smile too. Sorry the picture is not the best, I am in the process of getting a new picture setting so that will hopefully improve my picture taking. HOPEFULLY! :)

Gearing down for the 365 run

So as tomorrow approaches I am filled with anticipation and anxiety about this new goal of finishing 365 projects and blogging about them. I have started to gather some project tutorials so I can put my own spin on the designs but have some idea's to start with. One of my favorite web sites is www.splitcoaststampers.com where I have attained so many of the idea's I share with others. If you haven't been to this web site you should check it out and make sure to look at the gallery.

I am a person who loves to be around people and therefore have classes at my home where I teach others to be creative. This month has been an exciting one for me because we are doing a mom/kids day class where the kids get to come and make some awesome crafts and feel included in the projects they see their mom's take home every month. Since Stampin Up has joined forces with Build-A-Bear and come out with some AWESOME things to go along with the Build-A-Bear things we will be doing our classes this month on these dye cuts and stamps. So this month, probably in the next week you will see a few of the projects that I do may include the Build-A-Bear dyes so that I can have them ready for my classes.

What an Adventure this is going to be! Stay tuned for tomorrows first post of a project.

A New Goal

Have you seen the movie Juile and Julia? I saw it last night and in the movie she blogs about a goal she made to cook all of Julia Child's recipes in her cook book in 365 days. Wow, what an inspirational movie. I came away from this movie feeling like I needed to have a goal and get back to blogging. So .... Get ready!

I have decided to start blogging every single day of the year for 365 days. Not only that but I have a goal in mind. For me cooking is fun but it's not near as fun as scrap-booking or stamping. So my goal for the next 365 days starting on September 1st is going to be to create a project, card or scrapbook page every single day and blog about what I have made. This way not only will you receive new idea's but I will have accomplished so many projects that I will have a full inventory of gifts for others.

Stamping to me is one of the most calming activities because I know that if I mess up I can try again with out a big mess, without feeling like a failure and without a lot of guilt. So Here I go to attempt something that I'm not sure has ever been done before but a worthy goal. I hope my husband will understand as I know it will take time and a great commitment. Wish me luck!
